If my previous career was 6 to 8 years of accounts payable experience, would it be possible to return to this career even though I haven't worked in accounting since 2003? Rate this question: Up Down asked by aalston8066 (Detroit, MI) Reply to this Question
  • Yes, it is by all means possible to return to the same type of position even after a long absence. Employers will want to see an updated resume and ask what you have been doing since, but it's possible to get back into the swing of things.

I have an 18 year old son that i would like to enlist him in the military, for disciniplary reasons. Can i enlist him as his father, or does the military need his consent to join? Rate this question: Up Down asked by gary.guhl (Atlanta, GA) Reply to this Question
  • Yes they need his consent!!!!!!! Military is volunteer basis only!!!!!! If he is under the age of 18 he would need his parents to sign for him but they also need him to sign. The only ones that are forced is through court. In some situations judges can give someone the choice to join the army or go to prison but that is rare in our current situation!

  • since he is 18 he must consent. I did the same thing and it was the best thing I ever did as a young man.

  • You can not sign anyone up for the military other than yourself. It's volunteer service, only when there is a draft can young men be required to sign up. He would be the one signing all the papers, so he would have to consent to signing up. Have him talk to a recruiter, there is no harm in talking.

  • The best bet is www.grants.gov. You will need to register first, then you can have paperwork sent to you. No matter what though, you will encounter some red tape as the government has a strong interest in how their money is spent

would the military help me with a GED? and i have bad teeth would that effect my chances of joining the military? Rate this question: Up Down asked by (Buckley, MI) Reply to this Question
  • I know that they'd prefer you to have your diploma or GED but with the shortage of personnel in some branches they would probably wave the requirements. Check with your local recruiters and having bad teeth shouldn't effect your chances.

Are you looking for a Military School for your 6 through 12 grade son. Then I would advise you contact MAJOR Forde at St. John's Military School. Great School, Staff and Facilities. The time and investment is worth the cost. Here is his #785-342-4014 Rate this question: Up Down asked by drillinstructer2000 (Phoenix, AZ) Reply to this Question
  • We decided to contact Major Forde. Our son was having problems with respect at home, he started hanging around with the wrong crowd. We could not find help anywhere. We should have sent both of our boys to St. John's but did send our youngest child who will be a senior this year. Families should look into St. John's for their troubled teen or the teen who is starting to go down the wrong road. We found the initial cost to be around $28.000 for the first year. But the cost did come down the second and third year our son was there. They had some scholarship available for the second year cadet which were merit scholarships. My advice is to contact Mr. Robert Forde by the number we are providing. If you think the cost is going to be an issue, they will help you apply for loans that we found help us to get our son into this fine institution.
