Can having my taxes handled by a tax professional really save me thousands each year? Rate this question: Up Down asked by gordyhenson Reply to this Question
  • Most people probably won't see savings that big. Tax software and information offered online has really dumbed down the tax return process. If you're making six figures, you should probably see an accountant, but if you're making a pretty average salary, there isn't much a tax professional can do that the questions asked by a program like TurboTax can't.

  • I've never saved more than a thousand by going to a tax professional, but I have saved a couple of hundreds. Also, for a fee, some tax professionals will cut you a check for your rebate right then an there so you don't have to wait for it to be deposited or com in the mail.

After a house fire, declared total loss, how do I cost out the site cleanup for my insurance claim? I had to do it myself rather than hire a professional service. Is there some formula for a rule of thumb? say a sq. ft. basis? Rate this question: Up Down asked by bouvdog Reply to this Question
  • Most insurance companies will allow an hourly rate. Try calling a clean-up service to see what they would charge and start with that. You can negotiate it with the claims adjuster.

SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS AND GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR OVERWHELMING ORDEAL

do i need professional training to become a pharm technician? Rate this question: Up Down asked by thomas_vdw1 Reply to this Question
  • Yes, you will need to take coursework to be registered as a pharmacy technician in California. However, if you are nationally certified, you can use this as your qualification. This requires only passing the national test, so if you have the knowledge to past the test, you can forgo professional training. (I passed it with no coursework).

Should I install soundproofing foam by myself, or consult a professional? Rate this question: Up Down asked by Reply to this Question

Where do I go in order to learn how to do professional corporation tax forms at no cost? Rate this question: Up Down asked by clorlr1 Reply to this Question
  • Corporate tax filings are often the specialty area of CPA, which requires at least a BA in Accounting and up to 500 hours of accountancy. Many CPAs have advanced degrees as well. Corporations then hire these professionals to calculate and file the required reportings to the federal and state government in order to stay clearly within the requirements of the law, which change annually, thus requiring a CPA to keep abreast of the information. Because of the nature of the business, the great value of the profession and the high financial and legal stakes to corporations, the education and training is not free.

how much does it cost to have a professional come and tune my piano? Rate this question: Up Down asked by ewilliams Reply to this Question
  • It really varies depending on area, experience, and sometimes the piano itself. One the low end, $50 is about the cheapest you'll ever find. If you're a concert pianist, you may pay $200 or more. $75 is probably about average.

  • $50 is awfully low-I doubt anyone other than a beginner would attempt a tuning at this price.$85-$125 is more realistic in the Northeast. In some areas,$300 or more is the normal fee.Find an experienced tuner that is fully insured.Saving a few dollars by hiring a beginner will usually (but not always) end up with unsatisfactory results.

  • Even $75 is low these days.It's about $95 where I live.

What are the legal inssues for caring for you elder family member in your home? We are hoping to do this until she must go into professional care home. She is in early stages of Alsheimers? What happens when she has to go on Medical ? Rate this question: Up Down asked by GreaterSea Reply to this Question
  • The legal issues involved with carying for a family member are pretty simple: you can't be negligent. In other words, even if she's not at all capable of asking for such things, you have to make sure she gets proper food, shelter, medical care and so forth. You can't abuse her or do anything illegal (for example, take her money without her permission). Basically, she's a member of her family and common sense and good morals should be a decent guide.
