My sister is carring a baby for me and my husband. My husband is the father but I am not the mother cause my egg was not put in her. What do I have to do to be put as the mother on the Birth Certificate? Rate this question: Up Down asked by (Newport News, VA) Reply to this Question

Do I need to get a lawyer if the childs biological father agrees to let my husband adopt my child. Rate this question: Up Down asked by (Buffalo, NY) Reply to this Question
  • Legal documentation is required of the father's willingness to relinquish all parental rights. You will need this to proceed with an adoption. The adoption, however, simple and straightforward, should be handled by an attorney to assure that it is done properly. You don't want problems down the road.

My husband and I are interested in adopting a child. How do we get information. Rate this question: Up Down asked by (Philipsburg, 00) Reply to this Question
  • You might want to start your research at the National Adoption Center's website. They have a lot of basic information about how to start thinking about adopting, who to turn to, the costs, etc. Here is a link to their website: www.adopt.org.

can you recommend an adoption attorney. Rate this question: Up Down asked by (Philipsburg, 00) Reply to this Question
  • I cannot locate a practice in Philipsburg that specializes in adoption law. I would suggestion you contact a general purpose law firm and ask them for a recommendation. One such office in your area would be that of Brad L. Belke. His number is (406)782-9777.

what is yhe easyest way to adopt my 14 yr old step daughter? Rate this question: Up Down asked by (Takoma Park, MD) Reply to this Question
  • The child's other parent must terminate his/her parental rights. This site has information and forms. http://www.ncsconline.org/wc/courtopics/ResourceGuide.asp?topic=TermPr If the parent is deceased or has abandoned the child, proper documentation must be presented. The entire process is fairly simple if these matters are resolved beforehand, and will cost around $300 with an attorney's help. Check out this website: http://reliableadoption.com/
